Cultural Studies

Cultural Studies at Cranbourne Primary School

Cultural Studies offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide range of celebrations, traditions, and stories from cultures around the world. While elements of world religions and cultural narratives may be acknowledged in discussions, they are approached through a cultural awareness lens rather than explicit religious instruction.

Our aim is for students to recognise similarities, respectfully explore differences, and develop an appreciation for the rich diversity that exists both within our local community and across the globe. All Cultural Studies lessons are carefully aligned with the Intercultural Capability strand of the Victorian Curriculum, with a strong focus on fostering Global Citizenship in every learner.

We are incredibly proud of the inclusive, supportive, and culturally rich learning environment we continue to build at Cranbourne Primary School, which includes our Term 1 whole school event; Harmony Day.
